It was designed as a follow-up to the school study to obtain data on nutrition education in elementary school classrooms to inform current and future USDA initiatives, including the School Meals Initiative for Healthy Children. 5 This initiative, begun inadds requirements for schools to serve meals that meet federal dietary.
